Stats: female, 34 years old, single. Born, raised and still resident in a small town somewhere in Germany.
I always prefered writing to talking. But I also always felt a strong need to communicate or to put my thoughts into words, so starting a blog someday was unevitable. I started my first blog in German in 2004 and switched blog hosts a couple of times. When I moved to wordpress in early 2008 I also changed the blog language from German to English, because I really love this language, want to use it more and I think it’s easier to connect with people from all around the world with a blog written in English. I’m sure most german readers speak English well enough to understand what I’m writing about in this blog.
liljan98 was the nickname I came up with, when I first discovered the wonderful world of web1.0. Or whatever it was back then. I was an exchange student in Stockholm, Sweden at that time (97/98) and needed a nickname for mailing and chatting and all the fun stuff. The usual nicknames for my name were already taken everywhere on the web, so I just took the name’s original meaning (“lily” in Hebrew), translated it to Swedish and added the year I was in. Voila…
