Without further ado…
My local Greens finally found a candidate for each electorial district of the local elections
The Blue October CDs were already in my mail
“Die Ärzte” Party at the Matrix (former Rockpalast) in Bochum-Langendreer
Getting back home from my mom before the rain started again
Browsing through Scotland travel books while taking a “Candy Mountain” bath
Unexpectedly having a great time at an event I expected to be dull and boring
Being on twitter with other Paddy fan-girls, watching the 24h of LeMans and Paddy finishing the race. What a great debut for TeamSeattle
It’s already Tuesday and I haven’t posted my list of the happy moments of last week. Shame on me. But I’ve been busy with elections stuff on Sunday and we went to a pub in the evening to celebrate. Yesterday was packed as well and today wasn’t much better. I’m in need of a vacation! I have no idea how I will be able to get ready for my trip (do the usual shopping, sorting through my clothes to decide which to pack, organize stuff that has to be done, while I’m gone…) until next Friday. When I thought about it this afternoon I had a minor freakout. Thank god it’s another long weekend (Thursday’s a public holiday in my part of Germany and I’ve got Friday off anyway).
Enjoying the public holiday and the sun, reading outside on my patio under the finally fixed sunshades
Discovering “Calling You” by Blue October while I’m enjoying the evening outside on my patio, listening to a great song collection on my personal last.fm station
No suspicious moles or skin abnormalities anywhere at the dermatologist’s checkup
Realizing that the fear of embarrasment was – once again – totally unnecessary
When Bro3 agreed to pick me up by car half way on my way home from work.
A trip down memory lane
Celebrating the good results for the Greens at the Election of the European Parliament
Yesterday I forgot to post my week’s happy moments. So here they are
A new chapter of “Love in the Time of Science”
My local Greens were able to overcome a huge roadblock on our way to election, which means working on the election campaign might be fun again.
Tax refund – Not as much as in recent years, but as I actually thought I might might have to repay some money, which I didn’t have to after all…
All the tiny happy moments throughout the day
Found a new (and not too expensive) fixture for my sunshade, which means I can fully enjoy my patio again
Knowing that me and my family and friends are safe and healthy and happy (after reading about some tragedies some place else)
Lunch at the lake
My wall clock’s battery was running low. And I was wondering how it can be only 10.30 when it felt like much later. So I guess after watching two West Wing episodes I won’t read much longer tonight, but go to bed soon. When I thought about my happy moment of the day for the weekly happy moments post, I couldn’t decide which one to pick. So this will be the exceptional “a few happy moments in one day” post. And I will link to it in the weekly post :-)
The funny thing is, that I didn’t expected much happy moments today at all. I had to get up earlier than usual due to an early board meeting, which took longer than expected. Which lead to a stressful afternoon because a bunch (around 70) mails had to be sent today. Personalized with various different attachment, but at least similar text so I could copy&paste most of it. It still was tedious and boring work. And it took me much longer than I expected as well. And I didn’t have time for breakfast in the morning and just had some small snacks during the day. Rather not happy moments at all.
Is it just me or are there actually not enough hours in the day these days? Maybe I’m just awfully bad organized. Or maybe I’ve just got too many things on my mind and in my life. And it can’t be that bad, when I find the time to squeeze in one or two episodes of “The West Wing” almost every night for the last few days. Josh and the guys throwing snowballs at Donna’s window? *squee* So wonderful. I’ve finished the 4th DVD of season 4 yesterday and maybe will start with the 5th. Or maybe not, because by the time I’ve finished this post and caught up with some blogs and stuff it will already be time to go to bed.
What has been keeping me busy and my mind occupied? Not so many fun things, I’m afraid. There is work. Not the amount of work itself, but the vast variety of different things to do and plan and there are days I’m afraid I’m juggleing with too many balls. Then there is the political stuff with council and other meetings. And there was this other huge unsolved issue among my local Greens, which had crushed my motivation to do any kind of campaigning for the elections or even continue to work on the electorial programme. I was so frustrated and felt so at loss and was so pissed at some of my fellow Greens, because they obviously didn’t see the gravity of the situation. But that issue was finally solved earlier this week, thank God. So on Friday I hope to find the time and motivation again to work on the programme and some other Greens stuff.
There were quite a few things this week, which annoyed me to no end. But I don’t want to dwell on bitching about those, but remember these instead…
The Walker siblings phoneconference and their lunch hour in Mexico
Being worn out after the workout at Kieser, where I have to raise the training weights for three machines next time
Starbucks’ Java Chocolate Chip Cream, Cologne Cathedral in the sun and knowing, that I can still laugh about the worst possible timing in my recent history
Spending a wonderful afternoon at some friends’ home with coffee, sitting in the sun and watching their happy and active toddler running around
Knowing that at least two of my local Greens see it the way I do
Sitting outsite on my patio in the sun and working out some more details of my London/Scotland vacation
By absolute chance finding the perfect shoes in a shop in my small home town during special Sunday opening
